Our story: YK comes from the initials of the Cambodian painter and architect, You Khin, who designed the buildings alongside his wife, teacher Svay Muoy. The guesthouse raises funds for a Montessori school for disadvantaged children, as well as supporting animal rescue organizations and prioritizing environmental stewardship. Our mission: an unforgettable stay in Phnom Penh for our guests.
Our Rooms
We are proud of the high ratings our guests leave for YK Art House, but what really makes our day are the returning guests that choose us over the thousands of other options in Phnom Penh. Our regulars like that we have a variety of units, including apartments with kitchens, so when family visits, it’s nice to be able to spend time together at a place that feels like a home away from home.
Our standard double rooms are great for shorter trips, and we host many returning visitors who are based in Cambodia and need to come to Phnom Penh occasionally for business. In between, we have large family rooms, that can fit an extra mattress and have a few extra amenities.
Why do our regulars choose YK? We are in Tonle Bassac, a quiet neighborhood in central Phnom Penh, with top eating and drinking options a short walk away, yet nowhere near the touristy chaos of Riverside. Our staff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! And besides very occasional noise expected of a rapidly growing city, our guests love the quiet atmosphere,and our friendly resident pets – dog Lucy and a few neighborhood cats who have also chosen YK as their regular hangout.
